Growing up as an Italian/American, I can really appreciate this post as well as this site. My great grandparents came to America in the late 1800s and early 1900s, at the turn of the century. The birth of Italian/American cuisine (more simply known as “Italian food” in the United States). They brought with them their traditional Italian cooking from their regions of Italy (Naples/Bari) and infused it with the characteristics of their new home here in America. Many of their Italian recipes and great traditional cooking were passed down to my mother. I had the pleasure of eating these wonderful recipes my entire life. Even created my own website about them. Great Italian food and great family memories was all the inspiration I needed. Don’t forget the Anisette for the espresso!
